Enjoyed some Le Mans and will be up early to watch the finish. Thought about life in a few years, mainly what I’d like in my driveway. Here’s what I’ve got.
DD: I plan to hold onto the Dart for a bit after it is payed off, maybe trade in for a V8 Charger with the new design if I want something larger or an SRT Dart if it happens. Not the Hellcat obviously but I would prefer it in white, or dark blue if I couldn’t get white.
Fun/Other/Project:
For a second car I’d have a few things I’d wanna have through the years as either the fun car or could be a DD in some cases.
First choice, a 3rd gen WRX STI hatch (alternately a Legacy GT sedan or wagon which I also love to bits) would be in the top slot at the moment for pure versatility and fun I could have with it. I like the 3rd gen the most, especially the hatch because dat ass and tail lights. It is practical and still a total hoon machine that I could play with and mod without too much worry for fucking it up. It or an LGT could share DD duties if I kept the Dart. These are the most likely to happen, especially if I could find a LGT wagon and swap in a WRX manual.
Second choice would be a stripped out and built Neon SRT (see my weakness for small cars and Dodges?) for the pure insanity and fun it would be. Who wouldn’t want a small sleeper that could slay the big guys? Basically anything that I could buy cheap and make it insane.
Third choice is just some kind of project car like an old Chevy, Pontiac, or Plymouth/Dodge. Something fun to wrench on and cruise in.
If you could have any two cars, what would you choose Oppo?

I like how you think. The Datsun is such a pretty vehicle, I definitely would love to get behind the wheel of one at least once in my life.

Shit dude. As a guy who owns ten or so cars, each with its own special little niche to fill, narrowing her down to 2 is damn near impossible. Just thinking about it makes me feel naked.
I guess the e39 M5 just edges out the CTS-V wagon. Fun to drive, holds its own on the track, and still has room for 4 grownups and all their shit. And the timeless beauty doesn’t hurt.
Then a tough decision. The Hennessey Velociraptor gets the nod over the Silverado 2500 and OG Hummer. I need a rig for epic Baja adventuring, various off-roading duties, and hauling/towing heavy shit. So will the Raptor haul 12,000 pounds worth of boat? I’m willing to find out.

I thought the LGT came with a manual? Is there a benefit to swapping the transmission for a WRX one? Why not use the STi one if you’re going to do it as well?
I’d have an e46 M3 with CSL roof, boot-lid, diffuser and wheels.
and an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider.
or a Citroen DS Decapotable
I tried to narrow it down to two but I just couldn’t. It was already hard narrowing down to these three!

The LGT sedan is easy to find with a manual, the wagon with a manual is damn near a unicorn. WRX or STI manual would work, just a nice transmission for it is what I would do.
I think I'd have the Alfa over the Citroen, both are gorgeous but I like the Italian.

I have. If only I could fit comfortably. I don't know about the current generation ones and their space unfortunately, I do know I don't fit in my buddies 2007.

I dont think the Neon SRT is a sleeper anymore. That cat is out of the bag.
My DD would be a C63 amg or a CTS-V wagon or a generation 3 LX SRT Charger. My fun car would be a ridiculous LS2 or LT4 B-body Impala.

I could agree with you on that, it isnt exactly a secret that they can be fast. My local area doesn’t have any that I’ve seen though.
Current AMG wagon? Ridiculous cars are great.

The problem with trying to use a SRT Neon as a sleeper is that the mods you need to make it fast also make it sound like a Banks-equipped diesel F350.

Did not know that. That is sad and kinda kills the whole idea. Oh well haha.

Makes sense. You might want to try the California craigslist when you are looking to purchase a LGT. I saw quite a few manual LGT wagons when I was browsing it last month. They’re pretty reasonably priced too compared to WRXs and STis of the same time.
Yeah, the Alfa just makes me think of sunshine and having a grand old time. Although the Citroen makes me think of just being cradled in bourgeois levels of comfort and yet looking like a badass hitman. The pains of hypothetical dreaming.

That would be a hell of a road trip to get home but I could camp in the wagon haha. I live in Ohio and that’s a couple days at least. I know the LGT wagons aren’t the prettiest but I do like the looks quite a bit. Very highway cruiser that’s more than willing to give the lighter trails a shot. Outback XT of similar age is also an option since it’s just a slightly lifted LGT wagon.
Holy crap that is spot on. They're both gorgeous in their own ways.

I’ve owned 4 of ‘em. My favorite (though probably the worst of the 4, objectively) looked like this.
I can count on one hand, with room to spare, the times I’ve cried in the last ten years, and the day I sold that car is one of them.
